BootSkin is a legacy freeware utility developed by ⁠Stardock that safely changes the startup boot screen on older Windows operating systems. Unlike other tools of its era that manually patched the risky ntoskrnl.exe system kernel, BootSkin works safely by utilizing a boot-time device driver to seamlessly override the background visual without modifying core system files.
